We are at Roche Harbor this weekend, and of course we have our onboard internet with our MOFI router using TMobile service.
Starting out the trip we had the router plugged in in the master stateroom, the internet speeds were a bit slow, so I moved it to the dashboard in the pilothouse, almost directly above where it was, just about 6ft higher in elevation. The speed change was amazing. here are the speeds we were getting after moving it to the dashboard. Almost 70mb down and 35mb up. Those numbers are about 20x the speed I was getting with the router lower in the boat.
Since we purchased the MOFI it has been a great addition to our boat allowing us the freedom to go and still remain connect if some work emergency comes up.
I would highly recommend this device with TMOBILE for internet access in the San Juan Islands.
