Electric Head Replacement

Electric Head Replacement

After attempting to rebuild the Jabsco electric head (toilet) in the forward stateroom, and discovering several more damaged parts than what is included in the rebuild kit, I gave up on the rebuild, and ordered a new Jabsco Electric Toilet.

Once I had it taken apart there was more damage than I was expecting, including the following:

  • Existing screws with the heads very stripped out. This was not the first rebuild.
  • The hard plastic impeller, which is not part of the rebuild kit had broken blades.
  • Some of the parts shown in the diagram were missing when I took it apart.

There is a point where you have been working in stinky sewage for 2 plus hours and you realize it is time to just throw this toilet away and start with a fresh one. The new unit should involve just 4 bolts to the floor, 3 hose attachments, and 2 electric wires. It should be much quicker to install the new unit versus what I have spent working on the rebuilt so far.

Here is what I ended up ordering.

Here is the original unit.
