Day 3: Cruising to Lopez Islander Resort
Day 3: Cruising to Lopez Islander Resort and Joining the Memorial Day Festivities
On the third day of our adventure, we cruised to the Lopez Islander Resort, eager to continue our exploration of the San Juan Islands. The journey was smooth, and the anticipation of new experiences kept our spirits high. As we approached the resort, the welcoming sight of the marina and the picturesque surroundings assured us that another memorable day awaited.
Upon docking at the Lopez Islander Resort, we were greeted by the friendly faces of fellow boaters to help us get to the dock with a bit of wind. This destination was special for more than just its beauty; it marked our rendezvous with the Bellingham Yacht Club for their annual Memorial Day cruise. The excitement in the air was palpable, and the sense of community was heartwarming.

The approach to the Fishermans bay was a fun ride, we waited and came in on a 1.5ft tide, and had plenty of depth. The last time we were here we had a 22ft boat, and far less concern over the tides.
This was the 123rd night on our boat since its purchase. Reflecting on our journey so far, we felt a deep sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Each night spent on the boat had brought us closer to nature, closer to each other, and closer to a community of like-minded adventurers.
