Orcas Island

Orcas Island is one of the San Juan Islands, a group of islands located in the northwest corner of Washington state in the United States. The island is located in the Salish Sea, which is a body of water that includes the Strait of Juan de Fuca, the Strait of Georgia, and Puget Sound. Orcas Island is the largest of the San Juan Islands, and it is the third largest island in the archipelago.

Orcas Island is known for its beautiful natural surroundings and recreational opportunities. The island is home to several state and county parks, as well as a number of private nature reserves. There are several ways to enjoy the island’s natural environment, including hiking, biking, and birdwatching.

In addition to outdoor activities, Orcas Island is also home to a number of charming small towns and villages, including Eastsound, the largest town on the island. These towns offer a variety of shopping, dining, and entertainment options, as well as a number of art galleries and studios.

Other popular activities on Orcas Island include boating, fishing, and whale watching. The waters around the island are home to a number of different whale species, and there are several companies that offer guided whale watching tours.
