New Mattresses
One of the most important things for a multi-day boat trip in the 4788 is a good nights sleep. Without a good nights sleep the rest of the trip is much more challenging.
We are replacing the mattresses in the master stateroom and the second (VIP) stateroom. We had originally planned to order custom mattresses, but it turned out due to the Covid-19 shutdown in Washington state, we were unable to make contact with any of the mattress vendors that we met at the Seattle Boat Show earlier in the year.
Marcia ended up ordering 2 memory foam matteresses, one for the VIP stateroom and one for the master stateroom. Neither of the mattresses are a standard size, so the memory foam mattresses required some cutting down to get them to fit.
Since the VIP stateroom is a bit limited on legroom we couldn’t order too thick of a mattress or it would have squeezed ours guests legs, so we went with a 6 inch thick mattress for that bed, and an 8 inch thick queen mattress for the master stateroom.
Below are the old and the new mattresses, one still in the box.
We don’t have any plans to change the mattresses in the bunk beds since those are just used for storage and a dog bed.
