New Flybridge Seating Ordered
Since we purchased the boat we have wanted to replace the cushions on the fly bridge since they are extremely warn out and totally uncomfortable.
Here is what they look like now that we want to replace.
We have had a hard time getting any of the cushion shops to reply to us, and we finally found one that would work with us and the price to replace those cushions on the L-Shaped couch was going to be over $300 each for the 4 parts, 2 seat cushions, and 2 back cushions. They want money now to hold our place in line, and they are backlogged for over a year. Wow… No way I am going to use them.
So we started looking at options and keeping in mind that a previous owner had removed the starboard side seating, and we had temporarily replaced it with household deck furniture. We decided we wanted to do something better.
After searching for boat seats, I stumbled across pontoon boat replacement seats, and after looking at the fly bridge area as basically similar in layout to a pontoon boat, I thought perhaps we could get pontoon boat seats to do the job.
Here is what we settled on, ordered last night, and they will be here next Thursday. The whole setup is slight more expensive that just replacing the cushions, and we don’t have to wait for a year.
The plan is to remove the current L-shaped seating, and put one of these on the port side and one on the starboard side. Depending on how it all fits we may order one more section to make one side more L-Shaped.
The seats should be here next week and we will get them installed.
