Installing the hard top – Part 1

Part 1 of installing the hardtop on our 4788 is the front half as shown below. When we purchased the boat 2 years ago we thought we would easily just get new canvas for the boat since the canvas was pretty worn out. After pricing the canvas and pricing the hard top we decided to go with the hard top.

The canvas had been really damaged in a number of storms.

The top is in place, still 2 of the support posts need to be installed.

We used a sheet rock jack, and 6 people to move the top into position. Overall it took about 2 hours to get the front half of the top in place.

The top is in place, but we have not yet finished all the screws on the posts holding it up. We still have 2 more supports to install.

We still have the back half behind the radar arch that needs to be installed. We will do that on another day.
