Today while staying in Ganges at the Ganges Marina we went out for an excursion to Chocolate Beach on the Third Sister Island. In the Ganges harbor, Chocolate beach is a white shell beach or a midden that is made up of shells that have been broken down to make it so white.
It was about a 10 minute tender ride from the Ganges Marina to Chocolate Beach. Being Saturday the beach was really crowded. I bet this would be a great place to visit mid week.

There is a trail from one end of the island to the other and it is a short hike.

Third Sister Island is covered with Madrona / Arbutus trees as shown below.
