Today we made a decision based on the weather forecast to start heading south towards home. We made it 64 miles to the John Henrys Marina and Resort at Pender Harbour. The first half of the trip was dead calm and we saw 10 Humpback whales and a couple of Orca, then the second half along Texada Island was a bit rough.

At the halfway point we decided that since it was so calm that we would take advantage of the great conditions to head further, and just a few minutes later we got into the wind and waves.

Our total distance travelled so far on the trip is 528 miles, and we are 87 miles away from home. But for now we are riding out the wind storm before we go too far.

As we approach the end of our trip, our onboard fresh salad garden is finally producing lettuce, perhaps we should have planted it about 3 weeks earlier.

Here we are out the outer dock at John Henrys on night 28 of the trip.

We will see if this turns into a one or two night stay depending on the wind.

Some photos of the resort, very quiet after labour day.
