For months, docking has been challenging. We don’t like to leave the pilothouse doors open when we are underway due to having dogs onboard, but we need to be able to get the port side pilothouse door open when docking in order to be able to see the dock. The port side pilothouse door has been really a pain, and has not worked well since we purchased the boat. I did some work in the spring to keep in going for a while, but today it was time to replace the roller wheels and the bearings.

Today George helped me out by taking of the port side pilothouse door and taking the wheel roller assembly apart, cleaning it out and adding new roller wheels.

Here is that the original rollers looked like, and the wheel bearings would not even turn.

After completion, the door now moves freely.

This was certainly one of my top gripes about the boat, and now it is resolved. This repair makes me very happy. Thanks for the help George!
