Turbocharger removed

Our mechanic removed the port engine turbocharger last night, and today we are sending it off to a shop to get tested and determine if it can be rebuilt or not.

The symptoms are that the engine tops out at about 1600rpm and it billows black smoke. After taking it apart, it is clear that the inside fan blades are not turning.

Here are some photos of the unit.

Hopefully the shop can take care of rebuilding it, which is a whole lot cheaper than a whole new unit.
