Dodd Narrows and Nanaimo

Today we travelled from Montague Harbor to Nanaimo via Dodd Narrows. Dodd Narrows was a wild ride, we were a bit impatient and did not want to wait for slack, so we hit it with a 6 knot northbound current.

Here is the video of us travelling throught the narrows. The narrows seemed quite easy after all my training on the Sandy Point harbor entrance.

Our trip mileage so far is:

DateDistance
2023-08-0910.70 Miles
2023-08-1029.20 Miles
2023-08-1234.20 Miles

And todays route of 34.20 miles:

We have a layover day in Nanaimo then we head north east across the straights on monday.

Here is our trip route so far, 74 miles.

An thanks to Google Earth, here is a really great image showing our current location.

There is a blues festival going on just across the bay from us, and we can’t see the performers, but we can hear the show.

Here is the view of our “neighborhood” on the dock. This is one busy harbor.
