Day 14: Journey from Chameleon Harbour to Blind Channel, BC

Today marked the 14th day of our adventure, and we set off from Chameleon Harbour, heading towards Blind Channel, BC. The weather was a mix of sun and clouds, typical of the Discovery Islands, making for a pleasant cruise through these scenic waters. We covered 20.4 miles today, bringing our total trip distance to an impressive 400 miles. Chameleon Harbour is a place that I would like to come back to.

As we navigated through the islands, we were treated to the usual stunning views that this part of British Columbia has to offer. The rocky coastlines, dotted with dense forests, and the occasional sighting of wildlife kept us company along the way. The waters were calm, making for a smooth and enjoyable passage.

Our arrival at Blind Channel marked a special occasion as we were set to meet up with the Bellingham Yacht Club, with whom we’ll be spending the next eight days. The camaraderie and shared love for boating promise to make this a memorable part of our journey. It’s always a pleasure to reconnect with fellow boaters, exchange stories, and enjoy the beauty of the area together.

This evening, we have a special dinner planned at the Blind Channel Resort, where schnitzel is on the menu. The resort is known for its excellent food, and the schnitzel is particularly renowned—definitely worth the trip! After a day of exploring and an evening of great food and company, we’re looking forward to what the coming days will bring as we continue our adventure towards the Broughton Islands.

Despite striking out on crabbing and shrimping today, the experiences and connections we’ve made more than make up for it. Here’s to the next chapter of this incredible journey!
