Today marks the ninth day of our adventure, and it began with a truly refreshing experience. We woke up at Teakerne Arm, surrounded by the tranquility of this beautiful spot. After a quick breakfast, Marcia and I grabbed our paddleboards and made the short trip over to the waterfall. There’s something incredibly invigorating about starting the day with a natural shower, standing under the cascade of cool, fresh water. It was the perfect way to wake up and get energized for the day ahead.

Once we were back on the boat, feeling completely refreshed, we set off towards our next destination: Toba Wilderness Resort. But first, we had a provisioning stop planned at the Squirrel Cove store, a place we hadn’t fully explored until today.

The store turned out to be a pleasant surprise, offering the best selection of groceries and drinks we’ve found in the area. It far exceeded our expectations, especially when compared to Refuge Cove. We stocked up on a few items , making sure we were well-prepared for the days ahead.

From Squirrel Cove, we continued our journey, covering a total of 31.3 miles today. This brings our trip’s grand total to 274 miles, each one filled with stunning scenery and unforgettable experiences. The waters were calm, the sun was shining, and the views were, as always, absolutely breathtaking.

Arriving at Toba Wilderness Resort felt like discovering another slice of paradise. The resort is nestled between towering mountains and the tranquil waters of Toba Inlet, creating a serene atmosphere that immediately put us at ease. We wasted no time diving into the clear waters for a refreshing swim, enjoying the clean and inviting water that’s perfect for cooling off after a day on the boat.

We also tried our luck at fishing this afternoon. Although the fish weren’t biting much today, the time spent out on the water, surrounded by such natural beauty, was more than worth it.

As the sun begins to dip behind the mountains, we’re looking forward to a peaceful evening at the resort. Perhaps we’ll crack open some of the provisions we picked up earlier and enjoy a quiet dinner under the stars. It’s hard to believe we’re already on Day 9 of this journey. Each day brings new wonders, and we can’t wait to see what tomorrow has in store.
