Day 21 on this adventure.

Our adventure continued today with a short yet eventful 16.5-mile trip from Sutherland Bay to Sullivan Bay. The weather was far from ideal, with rain falling steadily throughout the journey, but the beauty of the landscape and the wildlife sightings made it a memorable day.

As we pulled anchor and set off, we were greeted by the sight of two bears along the shoreline, bringing our total bear count to five in the last 24 hours. It’s always a thrill to see these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, and these sightings added a bit of excitement to the otherwise gray morning.

The route took us through Stuart Narrows, where timing is everything due to the strong currents. Fortunately, our planning paid off, and we passed through with ease, without any of the challenges that can sometimes arise in these narrow waters. The passage was smooth, and we enjoyed the tranquil yet rugged scenery of the surrounding islands.

Despite the rain, there was something serene about the journey. The mist clung to the trees, and the rain created a soft, rhythmic sound on the water, making the world around us feel quiet and remote. It’s in moments like these that the true beauty of this wild coast comes through, even when the weather isn’t on your side.

One aspect of our trip that continues to impress us is the performance of our Starlink internet. Whether we’re underway, anchored in a secluded bay, or docked at a marina, the connection has remained strong and reliable. It’s incredible to stay connected, even in some of the most remote locations, allowing us to share our experiences in real time and keep up with the outside world.

Arriving at Sullivan Bay felt like a small victory after the wet and chilly ride. The charming floating community welcomed us, but what truly felt luxurious was the hot shower that awaited us. After hours in the rain, warming up under a steaming shower was pure bliss. A hot shave added to the comfort, making us feel refreshed and ready to explore Sullivan Bay.

We’re looking forward to discovering more of what this unique place has to offer, rain or shine. For now, it’s time to dry off, warm up, and reflect on another day of adventure in this beautiful and untamed corner of the world.
