As our first night on our 2024 Canadian boating trips we traveled 35 miles from home to Mongague Harbour on Galiano Island.

Travelling through Active Pass was a bit of a challenge due to the number of large ferries travelling back and forth from Tswassen to Vancouver Island. It is always a bit stressful to plot your route around boats that are 5 to 10 times the lenght of our boat, and travelling on a tight schedule at 2 to 4 times our speed. I know we show up on radar and AIS, but we fell like we would be nothing more than a speed bump for them.

We cleared customs by phone with our Nexus Pass.

At Montague Harbour it was the absolutely smoothest night ever on anchor, there was no wind at all.

At this point we are 35 miles in on about a 1,000 mile journey. So far so good.
