We stayed over for a second day at Maple Bay due to some engine troubles that we encountered yesterday. On the port side engine the Temp gauge was bouncing all around and not giving a reliable temperature. About half of the trip to Maple bay we were running on a single engine because I was not sure what was going on with the port side temperature gauge.

My initial assumption was that it would something with the thermostat on the engine, and I have a spare on board, but before attempting to replace thermostat I thought it would be best to take the boat out for a trip today to see how it runs. We ran for about an hour with no problems detected. Whatever the issue was we are not seeing it today.

Tomorrow we will give it a try and keep an eye on the temp to see how it goes.

Cabinet Work

On this trip Marcia had the goal to refinish one cabinet door each day, and that has been going well. Cleaning and refinishing the cabinet doors and replacing the door hardware. I didn’t realize how dirty the existing doors were until you compare them side by side as shown here.

Laundry Day

Today was laundry day with the on board washer and “dryer”. It doesn’t actually dry, but it does wash well. We were able to do the laundry and spread it out on the fly bridge seating to dry.
